Summer and I couldn’t wait to try all our finds and mystery box goodies from Laura Geller Cosmetics. Laura Geller is one of our affiliate partners and we get a small commission when you purchase through our link below. As always I only choose affiliates of products that I wear and recommend and I am honest in my reviews of their products.
In this post, I will be sharing a holiday look I created, along with my product review. In our next post, Summer will share the look she designed and let us know what she thought of Laura Geller’s make-up.

First up I used Spackle Skin Perfecting Primer, Timeless Skin Anti-Aging serum. It is infused with natural extracts to firm and soften lines, even out discoloration, and has anti-oxidants to protect our skin. This primer was designed to revive and brighten the complexion. It smooths the skin to help make-up go on evenly and provides long-lasting wear. I found it to be lightly moisturizing, as it created a barrier above my skin. The Anti-Aging formula dries quickly to a light golden shimmer.
I then applied Baked Balance-N-Brighten Color Correcting Foundation in Fair. Laura Geller is known for her baked cosmetics. The multicolored liquid pigments are baked for 24 hours on terra cotta tiles. This hand-finished Italian made foundation is a lightweight powder. It offers creamy coverage and is not made without fillers, and infused with antioxidants. The result is a demi-matte finish that self adjusts and hydrates the skin.
This is a great product to use for photographs and video, as it gives a soft, smooth finish that looks good under the lights. It is light-weight and long-wearing. It has a soft feel that blends easily and creates an even look to the skin. I can see why people like this product and think it would be a great fit for Summer. However, while I would wear it for a quick on the go application, on a light make-up day, I prefer my Joah Angel Food Cushion Foundation, because it has a dewy finish and light coverage that I prefer for my drier 55+ complexion.

Next, I applied the Spackle Concealer in Fair. This is a weightless, medium-to-full-coverage concealer. It fills in and smooths fine lines, and covers dark circles and imperfections. The formula has a strong pigment and is long-wearing. I found it to cover well and blend easily. I usually mix my eye cream in with a full coverage concealer. This one was not opaque enough to mix with eye cream and not as creamy without the added moisture. I thought it looked and wore well, but think I might want to try their Real Deal Concealer that has fuller coverage and see how I like its consistency.
After concealer, I applied Lancome eyeshadow in Rust to my brows and sealed it in with NYX Fill & FLuff Clear Brow Pomade Pencil. Laura Geller offers a gel pencil and brow marker that I haven’t tried yet.
Brows complete I moved onto eyeshadow. I used the Iconic New York Collection, Downtown Cool Eye Shadows pallet. This collection is a mix of matte and soft shimmer shades. They have strong pigments and blend easily without muddying when mixed. I used a combination of:
Cream, a soft golden based white on my brow bone.
Shimmer toast, a soft shimmery pink taupe in the outer corner of my lower lid.
Electric Plum a deep shimmery brownish purple on the inner corner of my lower lid.
Sahara a matte soft brown in my crease.
Gilded bronze a shimmery gold metallic in the center of my lower lid.

I really like these shadows. They are long-wearing and as I said, blend beautifully. The shimmer shades are not glittery, they are soft and don’t accentuate the fine lines on my eyelids. The colors are versatile and the entire pallet can be mixed and matched for endless looks.

I finished my eyes with Lustre Eyes 24hr Eyeliner in luster brown. The thin brush made the application easy. The finish is shiny and it is very long-wearing. It is buildable so you can go from classic to cat eyes with a few swipes. I wore it along with Cover Girl Total Tease Mascara in Brown. Laura Geller has Lash Boss a lengthening, volume increasing, and curling mascara. I will have to try it for a future post.

Laura Geller makes a variety of highlighters and illuminators and I applied Dewdreamer Illuminating drops in opal crush and Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator in peach glow. The Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator applies like a sheer powder but feels like a cream. It creates a natural look that brightens the skin with an inner glow. It’s easy to apply and blends well, giving a soft shimmer that wakes up the skin’s appearance.
I liked this product and also the Dewdreamer Illuminating drops. These drops are highly concentrated and ultra-pigmented. This offers versatility as they can be used on bare skin, mixed with moisturizer or foundation, or simply layered on top as a finishing touch. This gives us the ability to go from glamour girl to girl-next-door looks with just one product.

I finished off my holiday look with Love Me Dew Moisturizing Lip Crayon. Infused with Vitamin E, Love Me Dew features a healing balm-like formula. It is moisture-rich and easy to apply with its chubby stick design. I used it on my lips and cheeks for a quick bit of color and glow.

The finished look brightened my face and complimented my own colors and features. I can see why Laura Geller is an award-winning line. You can’t go wrong when a seasoned make-up artist creates the products she always wanted. Laura Geller Cosmetics was one of the first cosmetic companies to create primers, baked cosmetics, and more. While their prices are higher than the drugstore cosmetics, their products are of a higher quality. The good news is they have plenty of sales and their mystery box is a good value. So what are you waiting for? Go ahead and give Laura Geller a try, and then tell me what you think.
