Recently we discovered JD Glow Cosmetics. This is another dynamic duo team. The line was created by two best friends and caters to folks of all ages and ethnicities, so you can see how it’s right up The Age of Beauty’s alley!
Summer & I purchased some eye and lip products. We were drawn to the Galaxy collections because the colors are highly pigmented, multi-chrome, with a shimmer metallic finish. This provided an opportunity to see if this style of makeup would work for both our ages.
I tried a liquid lipstick in Alert. The shade is a coral red and the finish is matte. It went on easily, did not feather, felt lightweight, and did not dry out my lips. It applies wet and is easily adjusted, before drying to a matte finish. The color is highly pigmented and lasted well. A little goes a long way. A big plus is that it is transfer-proof!
Summer and I were excited to try the Galaxy Gel Eyeliners. There is a good selection of colors. The liquid gel formula is highly pigmented for vibrant color. The bold shades with a multi-chrome and shimmer metallic finish are arresting. The JD Glow Galaxy Gel Eyeliners are long-lasting and smudge-proof.
When applying you want to use a light touch. If you apply too much product you run the risk of it cracking. When applied correctly and allowed to dry fully between coats, the effect is shimmery good, and very appealing.
JD Glow also offers a Matte Gel Liner that is long-wearing, transfer-resistant, and for more fun, blacklight reactive!
A product I keep returning to is JD Glow’s Galaxy Eye Shadow in Opal. It is a soft pink shade with a blue-green flip. I find the shimmer doesn’t accentuate my fine lines and adds a brightness to my look. I often wear it alone with a little eyeliner and sometimes use it as a highlighter on my brow bone, and inner corner of my eye. Interested in learning how to apply eyeshadow? All the shades have a Duo-chrome, and Trio-chrome effect. They sparkle and shimmer, with highly pigmented color. They have a silky feel and a built-in primer, making them long-lasting. JD Glow offers some vegan choices and is cruelty-free, they only test on themselves.
Summer created a fun look adding some metallic hearts to her winged liner look. I opted for a double-stacked liner look, with matte green and a halo-graphic pink. I added some shadow and finished with a go-to mascara, Maybelline Lash Discovery.
Stay tuned for The Mascara Diaries!
